What Is Azim Premji Scholarship?

Who Can Apply for Azim Premji Scholarship 2026-27?
For the 2026-27 cohort, the Foundation states that applicants must meet the following major conditions:
The applicant must be a girl student.
She must have passed both Class 10 and Class 12 as a regular student from a government school or college in an eligible state or Union Territory.
She must have taken admission in the first year of a recognised undergraduate degree or diploma course for the 2026-27 academic session.
The course should have a duration of 2 to 5 years.
The student must be enrolled as a regular student at a government or credible and bona fide private college or university in India.
It should be her first undergraduate degree or diploma after Class 12.
Students already studying in the second, third, fourth or fifth year are not eligible to apply as new applicants for the 2026 cohort.
Eligible States and Union Territories
For the 2026-27 cohort, the eligible regions include Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi (NCT), Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Andhra Pradesh and Delhi (NCT) were newly added for the 2026 cohort.
Application Process
Eligible students can apply through the official Azim Premji Foundation Scholarship portal. Applicants need to provide the required information and upload supporting documents in the prescribed format.
The Foundation states that documents should be clearly readable and should not be password-protected, blurred, cropped, edited or otherwise altered. Accepted file formats include PDF, PNG and JPG, with the specified file-size limits.
For the 2026 cohort, Round 1 applications were scheduled from 10 August to 31 August 2026.
